Overcoming Anxiety

Beloved as we were praying for you…we knew to pray for those who have been struggling with anxiety. This is not a teaching on anxiety and it’s not a word for everyone who is struggling with anxiety. It’s for the people that this word calls to, resonates with. It’s a word for some beautiful tender-hearted believer who is struggling and praying for a word of direction. Beloved listen with your heart as you read this. A key to what has been missing is to be in an even more intimate love relationship with the Lord which, will also bring you the rest of the answer to your questions and the healing that you have been looking for.

This is what we received as we prayed for you. We sensed that you haven’t felt really tight with G-d; maybe a sense of being devout in your religious beliefs, but when it came down to it, when the challenges have come, you’ve had a very hard time connecting with scriptures like Phil 4:5-7 “The Lord is near. Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]”. (Amplified Edition)

Beloved a key to this passage is it’s foundational statement, The Lord is Near. It’s that awareness of His nearness that makes the rest of the passage possible to embrace. When we pressed into prayer for you it seemed that when anxieties, worries, down right fear hits you, you are having a hard time connecting to the promises that G-d has made to you. As we prayed it was more a knowing that what you really needed was to nurture a living love filled intimacy with the Lord, where His Presence is so very tangible; one that is a daily way of life for you. An image of Brother Lawrence and his book “The Practice of the Presence of G-d” came to us as we prayed. He was a 17th century lay monk from France who disciplined his mind to keep his love for G-d at the center of his thoughts and daily world, so much so, he broke through to a daily bliss of heavenly love that is still to this day ministering to people. I highly recommend reading a copy; its a booklet, a quick read.

Beloved, step into this vulnerability with the Lord, this precious transparency with Him so that you feel truly connected to Him continually, before a faith challenge comes. Remember, only our faith and character are ever tested, so with each test, mind your faith. Hold to your trust in G-d and His promises and watch your character, which is how you respond inwardly and outwardly.

Beloved, there is a true friendship to be had here with the Lord; a real relationship with two way conversations. Rich, deep and meaningful and He is worthy of your absolute trust. If you know Him, you will Trust Him. If you know He loves you so utterly and completely than you can trust Him. When you know in your “knower” that He sees the Best outcome for you and has the Best solution for your every need already worked out for you, you can welcome what He has for you. When challenges come to me, it really exposes what I believe about G-d and shows me where I am at with Him on this Journey. There was a time that I went through years ago, that the anxiety was so bad that I curled up on the bathroom floor and prayed to die before my children got off the school bus. I couldn’t handle the constant fears and meltdowns. It was like my life was swallowed whole into a black hole of fear. I couldn’t control it. On the bathroom floor at my very end of trying to fight this thing, I heard, “you never took Me at My Word.” I got up ran downstairs to my bible, flipped it open and it opened to Isaiah 54: esp verse 10 that says “though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken or removed, yet My love and kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace and completeness be removed, says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.” I knew in my Knower, that I didn’t truly know G-d’s love for me. I knew I needed that Love to cast out this Fear. So daily I went walking and “pretended” He loved me like a perfect Father should love His daughter. I whispered scriptures that spoke of His love for me and I imagined what the feelings would be like to be loved like that. I used my feelings for my children to guide me into understanding how G-d felt towards me…and 6 weeks of daily walking and whispering the Word and imagining His Love for me, it manifested. It was like a Golden Living Wave of Love that came and washed over me. I was never the same…the fear that was strangling me was gone…and a Peace that spoke to my heart, that Love would never leave me and would Love me always, came and took fears place. G-d doesn’t do for me that He won’t do for you. Press into this daily as I did, because I knew my sanity and my families blessing depended upon it.

The Israelites were equally frightened, but didn’t find that link between pressing into knowing G-d’s Love for them and casting out their fears. When the Israelites were in the Wilderness, and bad times hit they cried out, “weren’t there enough graves in Egypt, did you bring us out here to die???” They questioned His Love and Care for them. Even after He previously delivered them time and again, they couldn’t connect with His Promise to bring them to a good place, feed and care for them and their little ones along the way. They were very frightened and were living like they had no G-d to turn to, even though His Manifested Presence was right there in the camp with them. We heard these statements: “ask yourself why you aren’t closer to the Lord? What keeps you from truly pressing into a bonafide relationship with Him? What do you fear if you were to become close to Him?” This is really the epicenter of the disconnect from the Scriptures that promise Peace in the midst of our storms, because He is The Promise, He is The Word, He is the Scripture. To be unable to rest in the promise is to be unable to rest in Him and our relationship with Him. So to truly know and trust Him, is to know and trust the promise that comes from Him, and is Him. When you read Phil 4:6-7 that says be anxious for nothing but in every circumstance pray, means to talk the situation over with your Friend, the Lord, the One who responds to our faith, with manifested answers to our confident asking. He is the One who knows you can not manage this life without Him, you simply weren’t created to figure it all out. Our brains were wired by our Creator to receive revelation, inspiration, communication from G-d. We are like radio receivers, not problem solving “artificial intelligence” robots. Our brains are not wired to fix and figure things out. When we try, it leads to terrible stress because we go outside the limitations that G-d designed us to have (read Romans 8:6 Amplified Classic Edition, sense and reason compared to the Mind of the Holy Spirit).

Beloved, Life is just too big, and the whole substance of Life on earth is based on Faith. Faith is the Life energy, the flow and economy G-d intended Life to be based on. Faith is how it all works. Every situation is going to boil down to a loving intimacy with the One who tells you to call Him your Father, and out of this love and intimacy comes this trust which is Faith and this faith is what brings pleasure to the Father. Intimacy means See Into Me…it says know me…and let me know You. Hebrew 11:6 says “without faith it is impossible to please G-d.” It was by faith Abraham (who was said to be G-d’s Friend) was declared right with G-d because of his Faith in G-d’s promise to him. You have to know Him, who is truly worthy of your trust and it comes with walking out of a real living relationship with Him. Prayerfully consider, reflecting upon 1 Cor 8:3 – (from the amplified classic edition): “But if one loves G-d truly, with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, and a grateful recognition of His blessings, he is known by G-d, recognized as worthy of G-d’s intimacy and love, and he is owned by G-d.” Beloved know that we are here praying for you as you enter into this new deeper, more meaningful relationship with Him.
