Scripture for Today:
Just found this video from a 2011 awards show. It features Vince Gill on guitar and Carrie Underwood with her rendition of the classic hymn “How Great Thou Art”. This is truly moving.
Anyone who knows me knows my love for the movies of Old Hollywood. I love the great musicals as well. This video has nothing to do with Christianity but it is 5 minutes of pure fun and to appreciate the amazingly talented dancers that Hollywood produced. The editing of the video is so well done, but isn’t possible without the fun, and at times, mind-blowing dance moves that you will see performed. If you are young and have never experienced the Golden Age of Hollywood musicals, hopefully this will encourage you to do so. Watch it now and just try not to smile!
Hopefully you have watched the sermon by Billy Graham that I posted on the Home Page here on wkbo.net in honor of his passing. I also wanted to post this short but special, and important video of Billy Graham. It is his last message to America and the world. His passion for Jesus and your salvation was always strong and primary in his heart. We will miss him so much.
Tess found this great video of Stephen Santos that I definitely needed to post for several reasons. First is that Stephen goes way back with us as not only a performer years ago at The Stage & Studio Cafe (back then as Warm Hearts Cafe) but also as the builder of the studio of WKBO located inside the cafe. He starts the video with a narrative walking the sidewalk across the street from the cafe and then shifts to him performing in the cafe. A really cool thing about the video was that it was shot in 2009, right before the studio was built. So for those who are newer to the cafe you can see what it looked like before the studio was built. Enjoy this bit of nostalgia!
The other day I was posting a “Vintage Video” of the ’70’s group Love Song from an appearance on the Kathryn Kuhlman TV Show. For those of you too young to remember, she was a pioneer in Christian TV ministry and her ministry spanned over 40 years before she passed in 1976. I found an old black & white video of her teaching on the Holy Spirit. This is not the whole teaching but a 4 minute excerpt from it. I was so moved by it I wanted to share it with you. The audio quality isn’t great but the teaching is powerful.

Tess is so good to me to buy me this Lord Of The Rings mug. This definitely raises my LOTR geek status
Gentle Whispers Scriptures 5.23.17
Ephesians 3:19 (AMPC) [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
John 14:18 (AMPC) I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.
1 O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me.
2 You know my sitting down and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off.
3 You sift *and* search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
5 You have beset me *and* shut me in—behind and before, and You have laid Your hand upon me.
6 Your [infinite] knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high above me, I cannot reach it.
7 Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me and the night shall be [the only] light about me,
12 Even the darkness hides nothing from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.
13 For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I will confess *and* praise You *for You are fearful and wonderful and* for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately *and* curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery].
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious *and* weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I could count them, they would be more in number than the sand. When I awoke, [could I count to the end] I would still be with You.
19 If You would [only] slay the wicked, O God, and the men of blood depart from me—
20 Who speak against You wickedly, Your enemies who take Your name in vain!
21 Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And am I not grieved *and* do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred; they have become my enemies.
23 Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there is any wicked *or* hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
1 The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.
2 He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still *and* restful waters.
3 He refreshes *and* restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.
4 Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear *or* dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.
6 Surely *or* only goodness, mercy, *and* unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.
Hebrews 13:5 (AMPC) Let your character *or* moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you *nor* give you up *nor* leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless *nor* forsake *nor* let [you] down relax My hold on you)! Assuredly not!]
*John 14:23 & 26* Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him. But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
*John 16:27* For the Father Himself [tenderly] loves you because you have loved Me and have believed that I came out from the Father.
*John 16:33 (AMPC)* I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace *and* confidence. In the world you have tribulation *and* trials *and* distress *and* frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
*John 15:9 (AMPC)* I have loved you, [just] as the Father has loved Me; abide in My love [[a<https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john15%3A9&version=AMPC#fen-AMPC-26707a>] continue in His love with Me].
*Read thru & Meditate on all of John 15*
*Hebrews 11:6 (AMPC)* But without faith it is impossible to please *and* be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly *and* diligently seek Him [out].
